Illinois Builder/Developer Named 2009 Chair of NAHB’s National Sales & Marketing Council

Chicago, IL – February 10, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Tom Stephani, MIRM, a custom home builder/developer and consultant from Crystal Lake, Ill., was named chairman of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) National Sales & Marketing Council (NSMC) board of trustees during the 2009 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas last month. NSMC provides resources, education, exclusive research and networking opportunities for its members.

“I am looking forward to achieving much as NSMC Chairman in the coming year,” said Stephani. “Now is the time when home builders and other NAHB members need to band together to support each other and learn strategies for surviving these difficult economic times.”

Stephani has worked within the construction and real estate development industries for more than 30 years, with extensive experience in building custom homes and traditional neighborhood infill projects. He is the president and owner of Stephani Enterprises, Inc., developing commercial and residential land and constructing light commercial projects. Stephani is also a nationally recognized speaker, trainer and consultant, who has presented seminars and speeches across the country on topics such as custom building, buying new construction, first-time home buying and remodeling.

Stephani has been very involved with NAHB on both the local and national levels, having served as president of the McHenry County Home Builders Association in the Chicago area, as well as serving on NAHB’s Custom Builder and Education Committees. Stephani is a member of NSMC’s Board of Trustees and serves on NAHB’s Board of Directors. He teaches numerous courses for the Institute of Residential Marketing, the educational arm of the NSMC.
