WHAT:             On Sunday, December 4, the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) will host hundreds of students (ages 5-13) who reside in CHA family housing developments at their 17th annual holiday party at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI).

Bulls volunteers will serve the students lunch, compliments of McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Edy’s Ice Cream, and MSI volunteers and staff will then take the students on tours of the museum. Bulls players will spend time with the students and distribute toys, purchased by Jimmy Butler.

The holiday party is one of more than 30 events the Bulls are organizing this year as part of the team and NBA Cares’ “Season of Giving.”

PARKING: Media must park in the Museum’s West Lot, located just south of the Cornell and 57th streets intersection. Do not park in the underground parking garage. In the West Lot, there are marked spaces for media to park on the south end. Proceed to the marked Group Center entrance, located on the north end of the lot.

CHA has utilized the flexibility of the Moving To Work agreement to test innovative, locally-designed strategies that use federal dollars to more efficiently help residents become self-sufficient and to increase housing choices for low-income families. As a result, CHA families are more successful than ever before. In 2000, 15% of work-eligible heads-of-household were employed. Now more than 58% are employed. Also, the annual income of employed heads-of-household has doubled to more than $19,000 a year.
