America’s Votes Select Brenda Janish as Grand Prize Winner in Apartments.com Possession Obsession Contest

CHICAGO, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ — Apartments.com today announced the Grand Prize winner in the first-ever “Possession Obsession” contest. Brenda Janish from Chicago was chosen as the nation's most “possession obsessed” renter by America’s votes. Janish creatively showcased how her collection of vintage pin-up art has taken over her apartment in a short video submission to http://www.apartments.com/possessionobsession. Her video, “Brenda's Babes,” received more votes than two other finalists' videos, and Janish was awarded the $20,000 Grand Prize.

“After seeing voters' reaction to 'Brenda's Babes', it became clear that this extensive collection of pin-up, combined with Brenda's remarkable knowledge of this unique art form, impressed the voters and helped her to win the Grand Prize,” said Maureen Boyle of Apartments.com “We hope that by opening up her apartment for America to see, other renters are inspired to let their possession obsessions take on a new life in their apartments.”

Janish's apartment is every guy's fantasy living space with a twist: the treasure trove of vintage pin-up art presents a collection that is more tres chic than triple-X. Scantily clad women line the walls and appear in unusual places throughout the apartment — sultry ashtrays, curvaceous lighting fixtures, and even a babe-filled bathroom — but Janish knows the true value of her collection goes beyond basic sex appeal. These rare pin-ups are valued as an art form, and America's voters agreed that, in today's world of svelte celebrities, it is refreshing to see a collection that celebrates women who flaunt their curves.

The other two finalists, Kalvin Roberts from Tulsa, who displays his collection of Halloween memorabilia 365 days a year, and Ali Horeanopoulos from Boston, who collects “free stuff” and turns other people's trash into treasure, each will receive a cash prize of $500.

Brenda Janish's Grand Prize-winning video submission, entitled “Brenda's Babes,” can be viewed at http://www.apartments.com/possessionobsession.
