Hare Praises New Housing Facility for Homeless Female Veterans

-

January 26, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Phil Hare (D-IL) today released the following statement praising the Obama Administration for opening a new transitional housing facility in Cocoa, Florida for homeless female veterans. Hare has introduced the Help Our Homeless Veterans Act, legislation that would mandate the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to dedicate funding for a National Media Outreach Campaign on homelessness with a specific focus on women.

“I want to commend President Obama and Secretary Shinseki for opening a facility specifically targeting homeless female veterans. The rate of homelessness among the women who served our nation in uniform is unconscionable. Operation Home Front will provide essential services to our nation’s heroes who have fallen on tough times. I hope this facility can serve as a model for the other 49 states.”
