QUIGLEY STATEMENT ON CONFIRMATION OF SCOTT PRUITT AS ADMINISTRATOR OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), a vice-chair of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), released the following statement on the confirmation of Scott Pruitt as the next Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Now that Scott Pruitt has been confirmed as the new Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, he must commit himself to the agency’s mission of ensuring that America has clean air, clean water, a stable climate and abundant natural resources. Mr. Pruitt has to understand that his responsibilities are to the American people, not to the fossil fuel companies whose issues he has championed in the past.

More than ever before, America needs a strong Environmental Protection Agency committed to confronting pressing challenges, such as climate change, that threaten ecosystems around the world and the lives and livelihoods of millions of Americans. I will do everything in my power to ensure Mr. Pruitt remains accountable to the mission and responsibilities of his new job.”
