Congresswoman Duckworth Announces Federal Grant for DuPage Homeownership Center

Washington, D.C – May 23, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded the DuPage Homeownership Center an $18,183 grant to support their efforts in providing a wide variety of housing counseling services to homebuyers, homeowners, low-to moderate-income renters, and the homeless. This funding will assist the DuPage Homeownership Center in improving financial literacy, expanding homeownership opportunities, providing accessibility to affordable housing, and preserving homeownership.

“I applaud the efforts of the DuPage Homeownership Center in providing counseling to families and individuals to ensure they are well informed of the various tenancy and homeownership responsibilities,” said Duckworth. “The services from the DuPage Homeownership Center greatly contribute to improving housing conditions of constituents in the 8th District and throughout Illinois. I am grateful that this organization is receiving vital resources to continue their efforts in assisting people achieve their goals and obtain proper housing.”
