WASHINGTON, DC – (RealEstateRama) — This week, Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) hosted a teletown hall on the Trump Administration’s recent executive orders on immigration, refugees, and the construction of a wall on the Mexican border. Over 4,000 people from the 11th District participated in the discussion.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from people in my district,” Foster said. “But I am also concerned about the effects we are seeing from this order. We are a nation of immigrants, and we are proud of the heritage of inclusion that defines us all as Americans. Our country thrives when people from all countries come here to build better lives, start businesses, and enroll in our schools.”
On January 25, 2017, the White House issued two executive orders, one entitled “Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements” and another entitled “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States.” On January 27, the White House issued an executive order entitled “Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States.” The order banned refugees from entering the US for 120 days. This order has been challenged in federal court.
