Discusses Ways to Improve Local Economy

Batavia, IL – August 4, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Rep. Bill Foster (IL-14) held a meeting with area Realtors in his Batavia office to discuss their important role in growing our economy and creating jobs.

“Today, I had the opportunity to listen to the suggestions of real estate experts who understand that the recovery of the housing market is key to growing jobs and improving the economy,” said Foster.  “We discussed a number of issues including the homebuyer tax credit, the stabilization of housing prices, the importance of preventing another housing bubble and making sure that consumers are informed about how the new laws we passed provide further protection.”

Attendees included representatives from the Illinois Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Advisory Board, as well as area Realtors and a Mortgage Originator.

“It’s always a great opportunity to sit with Congressman Foster because he’s always willing to listen to us and discuss the impacts of legislation on the housing industry,” said Mike Drews, a Realtor with Charles Doss & Co., Realtors.
