Bustos & Durbin Salute Rock Island Arsenal for Work to Improve White House Security
WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 3, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) and Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) released the following statements following the announcement that workers from the Rock Island Arsenal’s Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center manufactured and are installing the new anti-climb fence that is being installed at the White House:
“I’m proud to know that visitors from around the world will see the Rock Island Arsenal’s quality workmanship on display and in use at the White House. The Rock Island Arsenal, our region’s economic driver, manufactures the equipment that protects our troops overseas, so it is only fitting that their work also protects the President—our Commander in Chief—in Washington,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos.
“I am pleased to join Congresswoman Bustos in congratulating the fine workers at the Rock Island Arsenal for their contributions to improving the safety of the White House and our nation’s capital. The fact that the Rock Island Arsenal has been called on to produce and install security features that will protect our President, his family, and his staff is just one more example of the Arsenal’s ability to achieve the highest level of excellence with their productivity and workmanship,” said Senator Dick Durbin.
