IDOT Listening Tour Wraps Up with Nine Stops

-

SPRINGFIELD – May 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced today that nine stops are scheduled during the final week of its listening tour to talk about the state’s infrastructure needs and priorities. Meetings will be held in Romeoville, Jacksonville and DeKalb on Monday, followed by Moline, Galesburg and Waukegan on Tuesday. The listening tour will visit Joliet and Bourbonnais on Thursday before concluding in Galena on Friday.

Held in coordination with the Illinois Capital Development Board, the meetings are designed to engage residents, businesses, local leaders and various stakeholders in identifying the infrastructure challenges we face and setting the priorities for investing now and for future generations. Among the topics that will be addressed are establishing needs and priorities, improving deteriorating roads, bridges and transit systems, providing better access across multiple transportation modes and reinvesting in state facilities, such as airports, schools and parks.

“We have received terrific feedback from people in communities throughout our state,” said Acting Illinois Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn. “As we wrap up our listening tour, I look forward to hearing more about how we can work together on solutions that ensure Illinois remains the country’s transportation hub for generations to come.”
