House Moves Quickly on Annual Appropriations
The House of Representatives quickly began its FY2016 appropriations process this week, agreeing to a balanced budget resolution and passing two of twelve annual spending bills. Congressman John Shimkus (R, Illinois-15) voted in support of the House-Senate budget agreement and Military Construction - Veterans Affairs (VA) funding on Thursday, as well as the Energy and Water appropriations bill on Friday.
Shimkus, Bost & Davis Question Energy Regulator Over Rate Spike

Rep. Lipinski Helps Secure Grant for Lewis University Airport
Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-3) is announcing that Lewis University Airport in Romeoville will be receiving a grant for $490,615 for a taxiway to the aviation center. This grant is part of a public-private collaboration that includes Lewis University, the airport, and the State of Illinois. This airport improvement is expected to promote job creation by attracting more businesses to the region and help the Lewis University Aviation program.
Foster Announces $2.7 Million Grant for Flood Protection in DuPage County
Congressman Bill Foster announced that DuPage County will be receiving a $2.7 million Hazard Mitigation Grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fund the acquisition and demolition of 13 flood prone residential properties.
