Mayor Rahm Emanuel today joined Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) CEO Eugene Jones Jr. and the Commissioner of the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) Samantha Fields to announce all retail electric suppliers are banned from soliciting on CHA properties, effective immediately. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced an agreement with Alpine Bank & Trust resolving allegations the Northern Illinois-based lender discriminated against African American and Hispanic mortgage applicants.
