Governor Bruce Rauner, joined by leaders from Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the National Federation of Independent Business, today discussed reforms to create jobs, lower property taxes and improve our schools during an employee town hall at The Will Group Manufacturing Facility in Chicago.

Durbin Announces $620 Million In Federal Funding For Economic And Community Development
U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced $620 million in federal funding to spur economic and community development in distressed and low-income communities across Illinois. This funding, provided through the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), will provide resources for local jobs, community facilities, and safe and affordable housing.
City of Chicago Awarded Federal Funding to Support 150 Housing Units for Homeless Veterans
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) CEO Eugene Jones Jr. today announced that CHA has been awarded $1.3 million in project-based voucher subsidies with supportive services to support the long-term affordability of housing for homeless veterans, the second-largest award among housing agencies in the country.

Durbin Announces Federal Funding For Rural Community Development In North Central Illinois
U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced $151,500 in federal funding for the North Central Illinois Council of Governments to support rural community development projects. Today’s funding, provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Community Development Initiative Grant, will provide assistance to benefit 27 lower-income communities located in six surrounding counties: Bureau, Grundy, LaSalle, Livingston, Marshall, Putnam, and Stark.

The Illinois Senate unanimously confirmed Kreg Allison as the Director of the Division of Real Estate (DRE) for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) recently. Kreg Allison was appointed Director of the DRE by Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner in January 2016.
Illinois home prices increase in September; Sales slow slightly
September brought continued annual gains in Illinois median home prices, while statewide sales declined slightly, according to Illinois REALTORS®. Statewide home sales (including single-family homes and condominiums) in September 2016 totaled 13,940 homes sold, down 0.6 percent from 14,029 in September 2015
